This Add-in caused problems with Word and Excel on my system. I was able to disable the add-in in Excel but Word stopped with an error message every time I tried to open it. I had to uninstall the Widcomm software to fix my problems.

You should contact Widcomm and find out if there is an updated version of the add-in.

Uninstall the "Send to Bluetooth Add-In".

First find the location of the Add In dll:

to find the btsendto_office.dll go to File/Options/Add-In select the Send to add in and observe the path at the bottom of the screen

Close all office applications and unregister the Add In with:

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Bluetooth Software\btsendto_office.dll"

If you don't like the result re register the Add In with

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Bluetooth Software\btsendto_office.dll"

Inform Broadcom that they have a bug in btsendto_office.dll

Do you have Norton or another security utility installed? Trying uninstalling Norton, which has a known issue, and install Microsoft Security Essentials instead which I have found to be non-invasive. That worked for me.

I had the same problem and had to start Word as an Administrator (I have UAC enabled) to be able to uninstall the add-in. Right now Word starts fine.

I hope this works for you too.

The regsrv worked wonderfully for me if you are curious the path to the DLL is. I was extremely upset with not having word working. Outlook and other software was working great. The bluetooth module was the problem.

Hallo,

I had the same problem with Word and Excel, always crashing on finishing the program. I first uninstalled the "Send to Bluetooth" Add-In in Word (keeped it in Excel) and Word works fine, without crashing and restarting on finishing the program. Then I - the first time since installing Office 2010 and bluetooth software - starts the Add-In function "Send to Bluetooth" in Excel, where the Bluetotth Add-In still was installed, and the assistent for "Send to Bluetooth" starts. I choose a bluetooth device (my mobile phone), sends an opened Excel document to it, complets the assistents and since this time, Excel did no more crash on finishing the program. I repaired WIDCOMM bluetooth software to get the bluetooth Add-In for Word again and also in Word I start the "Send to Bluetooth" assistent, followed the assistent and now also Word works without crashing.

Just delete the "btmofficea.dl" at the bluetooth folder

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Bluetooth\btmofficea.dll" restart and it will work fine.

This was it! Thank you very much theking2!

Since I also have a Thinkpad that started such problem (and not on any other computers I own), I'm thinking Thinkpad users should look into this whenever they have copy & paste problem in Office 2010.

Many thanks. This issue was bugging me for ages. Simply ran all the Office 2010 apps as Administrator and disabled the 'Send to Bluetooth' for all and I can now Copy & Paste with no problems.

Thanks again. Happy man.
